About: Puerto del Carmen

It is said than over 60% of Lanzarote's tourists holiday in the resort of Puerto del Carmen which covers several miles along the seafront. The main coastal road goes through the mass of holiday homes, shops, offices and various bars and restaurants, and an abundance of villas, apartments and hotels lie beyond. The majority of buildings in Puerto del Carmen are pleasantly designed, helped by the height restriction laws of the island. For over 40 years Puerto del Carmen has been a tourist resort and a favourite holiday destination for people in the UK and Ireland, having come a long way from the days when it was only a small fishing village. Visitors are spoilt for choice with regards to bars, restaurants, apartments and Hotels and with the all year round good weather make Puerto del Carmen an excellent choice.
