About: Tarajalejo

Tarajalejo originally was an old fishing village but is now expanding into a much larger town with a new development built to the north of the old village.

There are a variety of holiday rental properties, apartment blocks and villas in Tarajalejo as well as a hotel called Tofio.

There is a large and wide pebble / black sandy beach in the south stretching over a kilometre long which meets up with a quay at the foot of the large hills to the east - the rocks at the side of the quay are apparently full of large crabs, there are also some good opportunities for diving here.

There are some bars and restaurants in the old part of the town which has managed to retained its Canarian charm and which serve up some excellent Canarian cuisine with more bars and restaurants to be found in the newer part of Tarajalejo to the north, over the main road (FV-2) called the Urbanizacion Herbania.

An annual Fiesta is held in the town square on the 8th of May.

If your looking for a traditional Canarian coastal setting then Tarajelejo is definately worth a try! You'll also find things a little cheaper here than the main resorts.
